MRI

Prepare For Your Appointment

• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to exams for registration.
  **With the exception of MRI Enterography studies, patients need to arrive 1 hour early for this exam. 

Important MRI information: 

• Please wear metal-free clothing, remove all jewelry before the appointment.
• Patients with metallic implants, pacemakers, aneurysm clips or coils, spinal cord stimulator or any electronic implanted device, you must notify the imaging department before appointment.
• If you have a spinal cord stimulator, Vagus Nerve Stimulator, deep brain stimulator, or INSPIRE sleep device you MUST bring your remote fully charged and know how to place device into MRI mode.
• If you are getting an MRI WITH contrast, please notify the imaging department if you have a Gadolinium contrast allergy. 

MRI Enterography: 
Please arrive 1 hour before the scheduled appointment so that the oral contrast can be administered. No food or drink for four hours prior to appointment. (With the exception of water.)

MRI Abdomens: 
No food or drink for four hours prior to appointment. 

Defecography: 
Please expect a phone call from the MRI technologist 24-48 hours before your scheduled appointment to discuss exam details.
