Rachel is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner at the Athol clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She launched her career in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at the flagship hospital of Texas Health Resources, Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. After spending several years there, she relocated with her husband and took a position in Interventional Radiology while concurrently entering Clarkson College’s Family Nurse Practitioner program. Upon graduation, she practiced for five years at a rural mountain valley clinic, providing the full spectrum of family healthcare, including pediatrics, women’s health, chronic condition diagnosis and management, addiction counseling, and palliative care. Rachel is passionate about compassion for the suffering, safety, disease prevention, mutual goal setting, and evidence-based, minimalist-intervention approaches to maximize life and health.
Rachel enjoys taking wilderness medicine courses and completing continuing education in rheumatology and other subspecialties, and has had the privilege of volunteering and traveling internationally on several continents. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys reading and building her home library, homeschooling her children, baking, time with her husband, and exploring the outdoors.
