Heidi Herold, MD is a board-certified family practitioner with expertise treating all ages and conditions, and a dedication to preventative medicine. She earned her doctorate at University of North Dakota and completed her residency at UC Davis Mercy Redding Hospital in Redding, CA. She has lived in the community since 2017 with her husband and daughter. Dr. Herold enjoys reading, gaming, road cycling and spending time with her friends and family.

Dr. Kristin Comstock is a dedicated and highly skilled Family Medicine Physician specializing in a broad spectrum of outpatient care, including pediatrics, palliative care, and more. She brings a wealth of experience to Northwest Specialty Hospital, having previously served at Providence Northeast Washington Medical Group and Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, WA. Her expertise extends to various procedures, such as biopsies, wound care, joint injections, and osteopathic manipulative treatments. Dr. Comstock is deeply committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of medical attention tailored to their unique needs.

Educational Background

Dr. Kristin Comstock holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, providing her with a strong foundation in the life sciences. She pursued her medical education at the University of Minnesota, where she was actively involved in the Rural Physician Associate Program, gaining valuable experience in primary care settings. Dr. Comstock completed her residency at the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program, where she not only honed her clinical skills but also engaged in teaching and research.

Dr. Comstock is deeply committed to providing comprehensive patient care, which is evident in her diverse clinical interests, from newborn care to osteopathic manipulative treatments. She is also passionate about education, having played a significant role in teaching and mentoring residents and physician assistants.

Her leadership roles include serving as Operations Director and Clinical Coordinator for the H.O.P.E. Clinic, as well as coordinating blood drives and participating in various clinic improvement committees. Dr. Comstock’s research has been published in reputable journals, and she has presented at numerous national conferences, contributing significantly to the field of liver regeneration and rural healthcare.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Comstock enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, son, and two dogs. She is an avid runner and hiker, and she loves to explore the outdoors through travel and camping. Dr. Comstock is also a creative spirit, engaging in various arts and crafts, baking, and cooking.

Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program

Holly is an AANP-certified nurse practitioner. She graduated from Gonzaga University with her master’s degree in family practice and received her BSN from Kent State University. Holly began her medical career as a medic in the United States Army. During this time, she earned her nursing degree, furthered her military career, and became a commissioned officer in the United States Navy. Holly was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She returned home with the desire to provide health care services to her community. Her military and civilian background has given her a breadth of experience that has enabled her to provide care in diverse healthcare environments. Her clinical experience is in family medicine, pediatrics, women’s care, and public health. She is looking forward to utilizing her experience and skills while practicing in a rural area. In her spare time, Holly enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and animals and volunteering with veterans.

Northwest Family Medicine - Athol

Sydney Disselkamp is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northwest Family Medicine in Post Falls, Idaho.

Sydney received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Franciscan University, in Steubenville, Ohio and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She has extensive nursing experience in emergency services, critical care, and family medicine.

Sydney is excited to incorporate her passion for holistic health and maximizing quality of life into her practice for families. In treating patients across the lifespan, she digs deeper to identify the root cause of conditions and symptoms in light of the integrated whole of the person. She particularly enjoys treating chronic conditions in the adult population. She offers compassionate and competent primary care to patients of all ages with a focus on preventative health.

Originally from southeast Washington State, Sydney now calls Idaho home. She is a mother of a very active toddler and can usually be found exploring the great outdoors of the beautiful Inland Northwest, baking sourdough, or figure skating.

Stephanie is an ANCC certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of South Florida with her Master’s degree in 2004 and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Florida State University in 2000. She was born in south Florida and grew up in the Florida Keys. Her career in Nursing began with the opportunity to work in a variety of hospital settings including cardiac and orthopedic post surgical units.  While completing her Master’s degree she worked as an emergency room nurse at her local community hospital.

She has enjoyed providing primary care to families since 2004. Her approach to primary care focuses on education, preventive care, management of chronic conditions and helping her patients reach their health goals.

Stephanie and her husband fell in love with North Idaho over 20 years ago and recently relocated realizing their dream of living and raising their family in the Inland Northwest. Prior to moving to Coeur d’ Alene, she and her family spent several years as cruising sailors, living aboard and sailing along the Eastern Seaboard and Caribbean.  They enjoy all of the outdoor activities available here in the Inland Northwest including hiking, camping, skiing and snowboarding.

Northwest Family Medicine - Hayden

Whitney is an AANP certified nurse practitioner. Whitney graduated in 2016 from Gonzaga University with her Master’s degree, and she received her BSN from Lewis-Clark State College in 2009. Whitney was born and raised in Kellogg, ID. While attending college, she worked as a wildland firefighter for the State of Idaho and US Forest Service, traveling throughout the western US on large fire assignments serving on hand, engine and helicopter crews.

Whitney has a wide range of nursing experience, having worked in a wide range of specialties such as obstetrics, pediatrics, critical care, PACU and emergency care. A majority of Whitney’s experience was spent in critical access emergency rooms with a staff of one doctor, one nurse and one CNA.

Whitney’s approach to primary care is centered around the patient’s lifestyle and achievable goals. Whitney’s approach also includes educating patients about various treatment options to their ailments as well as empowering them to make the best decision for their health employing a holistic medical management model. She provides these services to all patients 2 (two) years and older in the local area.

In her free time, Whitney enjoys riding horses, playing recreational volleyball and gardening.

University of Idaho in 1984, and his PA certification from the University of Washington’s MEDEX program in 1996. Scott started his career as a Medical Technologist from Boise State University and working at St. Lukes Hospital in 1987. In 1996 he started his PA career at the Boise VAMC working in Renal/Internal Medicine. In 2000, he and his family moved to the Silver Valley where he has practiced Internal Medicine and Primary Care for 20 years. He also has experience in correctional medicine, military medicine, aviation medicine, industrial medicine, DOT medicine and urgent care. He worked for 8 years as Idaho’s only Aeromedical Physician Assistant for the Idaho Army National Guard from 1998 to 2006.

His wife has been working for Kootenai Health since 2005. His two daughters are pursuing careers as physicians, and his son is in the US Navy.

Scott enjoys everything outdoors, especially big game hunting, and competing in Ironman and Spartan competitions.

Katie Jarstad, MS, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant. Katie graduated with her Master of Science from Pacific University and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Idaho. Katie began her career as a physician assistant in family medicine in 2005 and has an extensive background in urgent care medicine and industrial medicine.

Her career began in the Silver Valley, where she provided care to generations of families. While in the Silver Valley, she particularly enjoyed caring for families connected with underground mining, as she herself was raised in Elko, Nevada, with connections to mining and agriculture. She was awarded the National FFA Sheep Proficiency award while in college.

She likes her patients to feel they can comfortably communicate their concerns and ask any questions they may have. Her passion is caring for generations of families from birth to elderly. As a former cross country All-State runner and collegiate athletic trainer, she also enjoys working with student athletes and adolescent medicine.

Heather J Sarkis is a Physician Assistant Specialist in Coeur D Alene, Idaho. She graduated with honors in 2003. Having more than 17 years of diverse experience.

Brittney is an AANP-certified Nurse Practitioner. She is a native of North Idaho and graduated from Gonzaga University with her master’s degree in family medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree from LCSC and her RN degree locally from NIC. She has a passion to listen to and care for members of her community. Together, with her patients, she utilizes a holistic approach and includes lifestyle interventions to help her patients obtain their best health.

In her spare time, Brittney enjoys activities with her family that include anything outdoors-camping, boating, hiking, snowboarding. She also really enjoys being a cheerleader on the sidelines of all her children’s sports.
